How to add Credo Instruct tutorial to Talon

LTI Links for Credo Instruct: with Talon gradebook sync

Use LTI links (known as "External Learning Tools" in Talon) to fully integrate the Credo Instruct modules into your Talon course. Also syncs student quiz results into the Talon gradebook.

Directions: Create the LTI Link

1) It's best to have 2 tabs open on your browser: this page, and Talon.

2) Browse the tutorials, videos, and quizzes listed below. Click on any of them to view in a new window.

2b) Alternatively, use this list of recommended tutorials, videos, and quizzes for basic research assignments to have a shorter list from which to start.

3) When you find one you want to add to your course, close the tutorial to return to this page. Highlight and copy the LTI link for that tutorial, which appears just after the hyperlinked tutorial name.

4) On Talon, go to the location in your Course Content where you want the tutorial to appear, then:

4b) Select the "Existing Activities" button, then "External Learning Tools".

4c) Scroll to the bottom of this window to select "Create New LTI Link". (**Alternatively, if you've previously added or used the LTI link in this course, that module should already be listed in the Existing Activities.**)

4d) Enter the title of the module, then paste the LTI Link you previously copied into the URL box.

4e) Click "Create and Insert".

(Optional) Directions for quizzes: Associate with a Gradebook Column

5) Click on the assignment link you've just created. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the "Assessment" box.

6) Click on "Add a grade item..." then click the + button. Fill in the name of the quiz, and add a category if you choose. You may also adjust the number of points you want to award. Click "Create" to add the quiz to your gradebook.
