Virtual Library Tour

This tour will provide you with an introduction to Kirkwood's library help desks, technology resources, collections and spaces to help you be successful in your college career.

Library Resources

Your Eagle card is your library card. Most books may be checked out for the semester, however reference and reserve items must be used in the library. Magazines and journals can be checked out for seven days. Renewals are available.

On the first floor, you will find the following sections:

  • Library Reserves (request at the checkout desk)

  • Popular books and magazines

  • Reference books

  • Scholarly journals

  • Newspapers

  • Children's books

  • ELA books

  • DVDs

  • Maps and atlases

  • Computers for student use

On the second floor, you will find:

  • Our large collection of academic research books. Use our WorldCat Discovery catalog to search our collection, or ask a librarian for help.
  • Study rooms equipped with large monitors with AirTame for connecting to your laptop
  • One large study room (Room 251) is also a one-button recording studio that students can use to practice or record presentations. Find out more about this room on our FAQ page

Remember: You don't have to come to the main campus to check out a book! We can send books you request to your local Kirkwood Regional Center. See our county center guide to find out how to request book delivery.
