Graphing calculators: 1 semester. ($20 cash deposit is being waived for Fall 2020). Please fill out graphing calculator request form before coming in to check out.
Laptops: Laptops may be checked out for 2 days, once every two weeks. Subject to availability. Please fill out laptop agreement.
Hotspots: A limited number of hotspots are available for semester-long checkout. See this page for more details.

The Library has a limited supply of hotspots available beginning August 31st. These are for student checkout for Fall 2020 semester. A hotspot allows you to connect to the internet if you don't have WiFi.
Most materials can be checked out for 1 term
A note on quarantining of Library materials: The Library is quarantining all returned materials before returning to circulation. There may be a delay in seeing that materials you have returned to the Library are checked in, and may be a delay in being able to check out materials that have been recently returned.
Before returning library items, we ask you to please observe the following safe-handling practices:
WHEN: Books checked out spring or summer semester are now due back at the library. If you want to renew a book, please call the circulation desk at 319-398-5696.
WHEN: All semester-long graphing calculators are due back at the end of the semester.
DEPOSITS: Kirkwood has returned all calculator deposits to students who checked out a graphing calculator for spring semester. This deposit was sent to your bank account if Kirkwood has this on file. If not, a check was sent to your mailing address on file. See your student email for additional information regarding the timing of this payment.
WHEN: Please return any laptop you have checked out right away. There will be no renewals of laptops.
